History & Development

The PVR was established in the year 1980, and became one of the most famous restaurants in the Rajkot. At that time the services provided by the PVR is too less. And the workers of the PVR were only 10. Now a day their resources are of human is more than 50.

PVR has come long was since its small beginning and is now one of the most famous and most respected restaurant in the Rajkot.

In 1999, they made one another branch at national highway 8-B.and it is also a resort.

So, the main responsibility of the marketing would be to know its service well and to take proper service decision.

If some one wants celebrate Birthday in THE PVR, they are providing big hall for party and arrange the event. They provided music to the party, and also arrange for cold-drink and food to the members of party so; person can get both entertainment and food.

The key department of hotel is food department. If the very nice service is providing by service department but the food is not that much good. The customer does not prefer that restaurant.

In the food & beverage department, they have to making cleaning everyday. They have to use best items for making food. They have to taste quality and try to maintain quality, the main cooks having experience and ability to make best food.

THE PVR having well kitchen and cook is able & experience. Every day use best item for survive customer. They make list of item that they needed. They are always going to purchase quality product.

They are providing service to their customer. They are providing soup to desert service. When any customer came in restaurant they give them welcome drink. After giving welcome drink they give menu and after selecting menu by customer. They provide customer selected food within in 20 minutes. After it customers want anything, they provided it to them.

THE PVR is maintaining quality by experience & expert person. They never compromise to its quality & services. They always try to its level best.

STORAGE

THE PVR is having storage department in which they are store different raw material some of them have long period like 15 day to changes, some of them have very short period i.e. daily.

The store keeper examine store after every 15 days this stoke is oil, sugar, tea, coffee. And other stock examines store daily bases i.e. fresh vegetable, milk.

After examine by storekeeper, he make a list of things that will be needed and give to purchase manager, purchase manager take form cashier and purchase thing listed in list.

The store keeper has to visit storage department and check the stock otherwise it is create difficulty for cooks. And mismanagement is place. But THE PVR has proper management of food & beverage department. It is strength of the unit.

In this global economy, marketing management occupies a significant place whether it is a new firm or it is an established unit. In this combative world every concern organization objective, an efficient & effective organization of marketing department is a prime condition.

Marketing occupies an important position in the organization of business unit. Without proper marketing the company cannot achieve its goal. According modern marketing concept," marketing starts with the products idea and ends with customer’s satisfaction.”

According to Philip Kotler, “Marketing is the process of planning, and executive the conception, pricing promotion and distribution of goods ideas to create exchanging with target groups that satisfy customer and organization objective.”

The concept of market is very much impotent in marketing. The American Marketing Association defines “A market as the aggregate demand of the potential buyer for product/service.”

It is said that without efficient marketing of the goods, even though we will create best product, but we cannot sell it.

PRODUCT MIX

Product mix is the list of all product offered for sale by a company. It is defined as “The composite of product offered for sale by a firm or a business unit.”

The product mix of a company has two characteristics: -

* Depth

* Width

Depth depends on the number of products items with in each product line.

Width depends on the number of products group of products line with in the company.

THE PVR has product width in food dishes. I.e. Mexican, Thai, Italian, Punjabi, Chinese, & continental items.

THE PVR has product width also in Room. I.e. family tables, executive tables, ac rooms, couple rooms.


PRICING POLICY

Pricing is a very critical decision in marketing management. It is a price regulator of production, distribution and consumption of goods. Pricing strategy determines the firm’s position in the market.

Pricing decision has strategic importance in any enterprise. It means decision of determining price of a product. Price can be defined as the exchange value of the goods or services in the terms of money. The price of products should be determined in such a matter so as to offer a reasonable amount of profit to the manufacturer, a reasonable remuneration to middle man and the maximum satisfaction to the consumers.

Price is an important element in the marketing mix. The policy is only factor that generate revenue other factor are expense. Price is only revenue generate element. So profits depend upon the price.

While deciding the price of product, following factors are considered as cost:

Promotion mix

The marketing mix activates or product planning and distribution are performed mainly with in business or between a business and the member of its distribution channels. However, though its promotional activities, a firm communicates directly with potential customers and as well we see, it is not a simple process.

Basically, promotion is a attempt to influence, and more specifically promotion is an element in an organization marketing mix that serves to inform, persuade and remind the market of the product and the organization selling it, in hopes of influencing the recipient ‘s feeling, belief or behavior.

Marketing research is a systemizing gathering recording and analyzing the date about the marketing problem to facilitate decision making.

Thus, marketing research concentrates on the study of product planning, advertising and sales promotion, distribution, structure, marketing strategies, marketing competition, buyer’s behavior and attitude in the marketing place.

THE PVR is NOT high quality business hotel. The hotel offers consistently high standard of facility and accommodation. Therefore THE PVR is one of the best restaurants in the Rajkot.


Advertisement

Advertisement is one of the most essential that is carried on by most of the companies. The main purpose of every organization is to promote sales and for this purpose each and every organization use advertisement.

Advertisement can define as “Mass, paid communication presentation and promotion of goods, service or ideas by an identified sponsor, it is paid communication, because the advertising has to pay for the space or time in which his advertising.”

It is a modern business word and in modern business world no business can survive without advertisement. So advertisement is must.

Advertising is nothing but a paid from of non-personal presentation or promotion of ideas, goods or services by an identified sponsor.

The advertisement at THE PVR is mainly media like Print Media like newspapers, magazines, trade journals etc.

Now, day in competition are sales promotion activities become most powerful in any of the organization to promote the sale? The Grand Regency also tries it best for sales promotion.

THE PVR gives discount on their regular customer. They are also provide group package on food, they provide discount on some special event. They are doing sales promotion activity by this way.

Finance is the lifeblood of the business. It is impossible to run a business without finance. In every function of business need finance. In this way the finance is important role in business.

“Finance is like an arm or left either you use it or loose it”.

Financial management is that manage real activity, which is concerned with the planning and controlling of the firms financials recourses. A capable financial management can lead the unit to the path of highly profitability with limited financial turnings.

Financial management is responsible for estimation of financial resources; their procurement and their application in a manner in which they help the enterprise grow according to well-defined objectives.

All the activities requires finance for their implementation like to establish a business, to buy row materials and machines, to make production, to pay wages, salaries, to market the products etc.


Financial planning

Planning is very necessary for the smooth running of the business. Planning means deciding in advance what is to be done.

Financial planning means deciding in advance the financial activities to be carried on to achieve the basic objective of the firm. The success or failure of any business enter price depends up on the formation of financial planning if the financial planning is prepaid carefully, accurately and without any fault, than enter price will get success in it’s business. If involves the setting of objective and identification of the variable affecting the objective.

In THE PVR, they also are doing financial planning. The top management does the financial planning every year.


FINNACIAL PLANNING

Capital structure is a very important decision for the company. Here the company determines the formation of capital or mix of different types of long terms funds.

Capital structure refers to the composition of long terms sources of funds as debentures, long terms debtors, preference share capital, equity share capital and retained earnings i.e. reserve and surplus.

Management of working capital

Working capital refers to the funds locked up in materials, working progress, finished goods, receivable and cash, etc. since this asset are known as current assets, in very simple terms, “working capital may be defined as capital invested in current assets”

According to Hoagland, “working capital is decretive of that capital which is the fixed. But the more common use of the working capital is to consider it as the different between the book value of the current assets and current liability”.

Working capital plays as an important role in any organization. The management of working capital is done in such a way so that the firm dose not faces financial crises because or the secrecy of financial will create disturbance in the working of the unit.

In THE PVR working capital is Rs. 5, 00,000. They manage working capital as the monthly basis.


MANAGEMENT OF FIXED CAPITAL

Management of fixed assets is very important in any organization. Fixed assets of a company are the permanent capital of the company. They are helped in the production process. They can be used year by year for a long period of time, they must be checked. A large fixed asset does not mean that the firms are very well but there must be proper use of fixed assets.

There must be proper and appropriate provision for depreciation of on fixed assets. The financial manager is responsible for maintaining proper management of fixed assets. Financial manager has to take proper decision for the investment in fixed assets.

The total fixed assets of THE PVR is Rs. 15, 00, 00,000 /- only.


PROFIT

Over and above the other objective of a business the basic objectives of any organization is making profit. The entire existents of the business depend on its profitability. Profitability of a firm means consist ratio and percentage of total profit earned on an annual bases. It is always observe to be well maintaining in every firm.

THE PVR has successfully in earning a profit of 30% only.

Personnel management is concerned with managing people at work. All the activity of the unit are initiated and determined by the employees, who make up plants, institutions or offices. All these are up productive without employees. Thus, personnel management covers the management of employees at all level.

An organization may be manufacturing firm, a business concern, an insurance company, a government agency, social organization, hospital a university, a public school, religious trust or even families. It may be small or large, simple or complex, it needs to manage the efforts of the humans engaged in it and to direct them towards organization missions and goals.

The internal department structure of personnel department varies widely from one company to another; the personnel department has to function as a medium to establish healthy relationship between the management and the employee.

Though the workers are well manner, they are also irresponsible, irregular and also indiscipline in their work so manager of the unit has to be alert to their work and try to take motivational action to reduce the problem with workers.

As THE PVR is not focused o advertisement of their service. THE PVR should make more advertisement.

In PVR the relation between employee and employer are very good and harmonious. I enjoyed very much with the staff of the unit.
